Copy and paste is an easy to use tool that allows you to move text around in various programs such as Word, word pad, notebook, WordPerfect, and other word processing, email and desktop publishing programs. Each big name software provider, such as Corel and Microsoft, have the same process for copying and pasting text from one document to another, or within the same document. There are three ways to do so. All of these ways require you to highlight the text you wish to move using either the mouse (holding the right mouse button down) or the keyboard (holding shift down and scrolling using the arrow keys.) The first way is to use the handy little buttons at the top of the screen. Some use two sheets of paper with lines on them for copy and a clip board with one sheet of paper with lines for paste. Before hitting the little clipboard, though, make sure you have placed the cursor where you want the text to be using the mouse. The second way is using the keyboard, using control + c (or control c.) Again, use the mouse to where you want to place the text, and then press control + p (or control p.) The final way is to go to the menu line, select edit, and copy, move the cursor to the spot for the text, go back to the edit menu and select paste. Either of these ways are easy to do. Downloading files is simple. Firstly, create a download folder. Choose a location on your hard drive where you want your downloaded file or files to go. Next, using your internet browser, click on the file you want to download, and follow the little windows that pop up. Ok, and Yes, and Save are all the answers you will need to give to download the file. Once that is done, the file is downloaded. Prepare the file for installation by unzipping the program. Generally, WinZip or WinRar are great programs for this type of process. You may need to download one of these at this time. They make the whole thing easy to do. Finally, your file is ready to use. Look for the extension of .exe. This is the EXEcutable file that opens all files and make the programs usable.
